2017 HIICAP Coordinators Training

NYSOFA’s Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance Program (HIICAP) recently conducted its annual two-day HIICAP coordinators’ training in Saratoga Springs. In addition to learning about Medicare’s upcoming 2018 program changes, HIICAP coordinators got to hear guest speaker Eric Hausman and representatives from the Medicare Rights Center discuss Medicare updates, current Medicare trends, and the resources available to assist with counseling needs.

The HIICAP Reporting Performance Award winners were also announced during this event. After a fierce 12-month competition among 59 local HIICAP programs to achieve the number one spot for the several performance standards required by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), congratulations to the following counties:
