NYSOFA Held its Older New Yorkers’ Appreciation Day on Tuesday, May 9th

This week, NYSOFA honored 88 older New Yorkers from 55 counties for their outstanding civic contributions at our 2017 Older New Yorkers' Day Celebration. Older New Yorkers’ Appreciation Day is celebrated every year as part of the Older Americans Month in May.

Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul introduced the Aging Services Mobile App, the first mobile application in the nation, was developed by NYSOFA in collaboration with the New York State Office of Information Technology Services. The app will provide older New Yorkers and their families with a wealth of easily accessible material about benefits, programs, and services, including: essential information regarding health and wellness, housing, and transportation options, among others.
