State Officials: Take Steps to Prevent Dangerous Falls September 23 is National Falls Prevention Awareness Day

All New Yorkers should take precautions to prevent potentially serious falls, especially those age 65 and older, the New York State Commissioner of Heath and Acting Director of Office for the Aging said in a press release issued on National Falls Prevention Day.

The agencies also held a Falls Prevention Awareness event at the Rotterdam Senior Center on Friday, September 21st. to raise awareness about serious consequences of falls and discussed simple steps which could reduce the risks of falling, especially among older adults who are at greater risk of falling and are more likely to suffer more severe impacts when they fall.
