Language Access

New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) complies with New York State Executive Order 26(External Link). If you have questions pertaining to Executive Order 26 or need FREE assistance in another language, you can contact the NYSOFA at 1-800-342-9871.

You may file a complaint regarding language access by filling out the following form LANGUAGE ACCESS COMPLAINT FORM. This form can be submitted via email to: languageaccess@aging.ny.gov or by US mail to NYSOFA, ATTN: Office of General Counsel, Empire State Plaza Building 2 Albany NY12223-1251.

Health Insurance Information Counseling Assistance Program (HIICAP) of New York
HIICAP provides Medicare beneficiaries advice on issues related to Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D and low income subsidy programs as well as other issues related to health insurance.

The New York State Long Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP) 
 LTCOP provides trained volunteer advocates to protect residents' rights, investigate complaints and promote the quality of life in nursing homes and other residential care facilities in New York State.

New York Senior Citizens Resource Guide

Information regarding programs and services for older New York residents. This booklet provides information on a wide range of services, programs and benefits available to older adult residents of New York, caregivers and others. For more information about the programs, call 1-800-342-9871 and ask for an interpreter, this is a free service.
