Managed Care Consumer Assistance Program (MCCAP)
Similar to NYSOFA’s Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance Program (HIICAP), the Managed Care Consumer Assistance Program was developed to work with HIICAP programs around the state to provide outreach and education to communities about the Medicare prescription drug benefits and serve low-income and other individuals with more technical and specific issues that may require legal assistance or direct advocacy with insurance plans. HIICAP and MCCAP programs work together to ensure the best outcome for older adults needing assistance. MCCAP programs include:
